Last night, a 23-year-old Russian man was arrested for wandering North Pattaya streets in his birthday suit and hitting unsuspecting Thais.
Around 8:00 P.M., police apprehended a 23-year-old Russian man whose full identity was suppressed for mental evaluation and treatment on Soi Naklua 16.
Bang Lamung Police Station Superintendent Pol. Col. Navin Sinthurat led a huge police team to apprehend the suspect. The suspect was uncooperative and spoke little Thai or English. He threatened police, reporters, rescue workers, passersby, and physicians while being sedated and tested for drugs and alcohol at a local hospital.
After screaming and yelling at passersby and being followed and videoed by multiple concerned citizens calling police, the suspect randomly approached a couple sitting at a red light near Soi Naklua 16 and attacked them for no apparent reason, punching the driver, whose name was withheld at his request, in the face. A video of this occurrence follows.
Several Thai people tackled the man and held him down until police arrived and took him to the hospital.
Banglamung police said the man would likely face multiple charges after a hospital psychological evaluation and drug test.
The Pattaya News reports that the suspect threatened to fight reporters but was too unpredictable to speak.
The culprit attacked a couple on a motorbike in the following clip, which involves slight rear nudity and may distress sensitive viewers. Viewers should be cautious.
