The most well-known policeman in Thailand, Surachate Hakparn, also known as Big Joke, led a squad of officers who detained Mr. Oraf Thorsten Brinkmann, a German, this evening, July 11, 2023. Oraf, also known as Olaf, was the primary suspect sought in the slaying of 62-year-old German businessman Hans Peter Mack and is charged with being the mastermind of the crime.
Three million baht had been given as compensation for the safe return of Mr. Mack, who had been missing since July 4th, 2023. Sadly, last night, Banglamung and Nongprue authorities discovered his dismembered and disfigured corpse in a freezer at a villa in Chokchai Garden Village 1.
This happened today after a second suspect in Hans’s murder turned herself in, and a person of interest who lived in the house where Mr. Mack’s dismembered body was found was located hiding in a restaurant, though she has not yet been named as a suspect by the police.
Little information about Oraf’s capture was made public, other from the statement made by the Big Joke-led team that Oraf has vigorously refuted all allegations and has requested legal representation.
The sole remaining key suspect is Mr. Zahrouk Kareem Uddin, a 27-year-old Pakistani who is thought to have helped transfer the freezer containing Mack’s dismembered remains. However, Thai police have issued a warning that additional accusations and suspects may surface as the investigation into the horrifying crime’s motivation continues.
