Beginning on July 1st, the Malaysian low-cost airline will offer flights to both of Bangkok’s international airports from Kuala Lumpur.MYAirline, a brand-new airline from Malaysia, has revealed its first foreign location. Beginning on June 28th, the airline will operate daily flights to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) from its hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL).
Additionally, the low-cost carrier has further plans. It will become the first Malaysian airline to fly to both of Bangkok’s international airports on July 1st, just a few days after it begins daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). Later in the summer, MYAirline hopes to boost the frequency of both routes to double daily.
Rayner Teo, the CEO of MYAirline, praised the news in a statement, adding,
“We are thrilled to finally announce our first overseas location, which has been in the works for many months. Bangkok is a popular travel destination for Malaysians because it has so much to offer, from its busy streets and delectable cuisine to its cultural sites and nightlife. We are thrilled to offer travelers a more dependable, practical, and economical travel choice. In a similar vein, we are eager to provide travelers and business travelers flying out of Thailand with the same experience that Malaysians have enjoyed aboard MYAirline for the past six months.

According to information from ch-aviation.com, all flights are flown by Airbus A320 aircraft, of which the carrier currently has seven in its fleet. Maximum passenger capacity for each aircraft in an all-economy configuration is 180. Operating since December 2022, MYAirline operates from Kuala Lumpur to eight domestic locations, including Penang (PEN), Kuching (KIA), and Kota Kinabalu (BKI). Although no new destinations have been disclosed, the airline has expressed its goal to grow its foreign route network throughout 2023.
Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur are in fierce competition with one another.
