His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn on Saturday cooked a variety of food at the kitchen of Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall in Dusit Palace to be provided to medical professionals who are treating Covid-19 patients in hospitals and field hospitals in Bangkok
The meals that he cooked included noodle in soup with braised pork and meatballs, noodle in soup with braised chicken and bitter gourd, rice with steamed pork rib and fingerroot, pork omelet with minced fingerroot, stir-fried chicken with yellow curry paste and fingerroot.
“These foods have nutrition values of five food groups with fingerroot as a key ingredient,” said the Royal Office.
“Fingerroot or Krachai is a Thai traditional herb that has various medicinal benefits and could help strengthen the body’s immune system and help prevent Covid-19. Furthermore, eating freshly cooked meals is one of the recommended ways to stay safe from the virus.”
His Majesty has also ordered the kitchen at Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall to prepare foods and hand out to the general public in Bangkok communities that have been affected by the outbreak since May 24. So far, more than 44,000 meals have been delivered to people in Bang Phlat, Watthana, Bang Kho Laem, Khlong Toei, Dusit and Pom Prap Sattru Phai districts.
