A stunning collection of new cars were shown off at a motor show in Bangkok, Thailand, despite sales in the country plunging.
Petrolheads visited to the event where the latest automobile models were displayed from manufacturers including Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Subaru and Isuzu.
Many stands had several ‘pretties’, or models, wearing colourful dresses to show off the new cars and describe the features. Organisers of the Fast Auto Show Thailand 2020 said the event is now in its ninth year.
The trade show came as figures revealed that Thailand’s domestic car sales had plunged due to the impact of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) said that domestic car sales had contracted for the 16th consecutive month in September. Numbers were down 4.1 per cent compared with the same month in the year before.
Thailand has developed into an important production and export base for car manufacturers targeting the Asia and Southeast Asia markets.
