1 dead 2 injured as motorbike crashes into parked bus
A Thai male has died and 2 other badly injured after crashing their motorbike straight into the back of a parked bus early on Sunday morning.
The incident took place on Jomtien second road at around 5:00am on September 10th.
All three victims are believed to be aged between 20-25 years of age.
Police and emergency services arrived at the scene to find the 3 men laid flat on the road. All three were motionless but it was moments later that one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two men were badly injured and were treated at the scene by medics before being transferred to a local hospital for further treatment.
The motorbike that all 3 had been riding was found still wedged into the back of the parked tour bus.
There was no eye witnesses to the incident and, in fact, it was the driver of the bus, who had been sleeping inside the bus, who had called police.
He told police that he had been woken up by a loud bang, but wasn’t sure what it was. He stepped out to investigate, at which point he saw the 3 victims badly injured. He immediately called for emergency assistance.
I is still not certain what caused the accident in the first place. Police took pictures of the motorbike and surrounding scene as evidence. They will also be looking at CCTV to try to determine a cause.
The 2 survivors has also not yet been questioned by police, as they are waiting until they are in stable state, both physically and mentally before requesting any statements from them
