YouTuber Ruben Carbonell dies after his parachute fails to open during a daredevil jump from a 150ft chimney into a cement factory in Spain
According to reports, the deceased and a friend jumped the Cemex company’s fence in San Vicente del Raspeig to get inside.
Once inside, both climbed to the top of a tower of more than 150 feet, from which Ruben jumped first.
However, the parachute did not open for reasons that are still being investigated and the young man died when he hit the ground.
His companion contacted the emergency services and police and medics went to the scene but there was nothing they could do to save him.
The dead man specialized in extreme sports since the videos he had uploaded showed jumps from a bridge, as well as paragliding and parachuting.
His YouTube channel had 111 subscribers.
Cemex confirmed that the deceased man and his companion had ‘sneaked’ into the facilities, which have surveillance cameras and private security.
However, they said they would leave it in the hands of the police to investigate how they got in.
