Yoro Set for Man Utd Medical Before £52m Move

Manchester United is on the verge of signing Lille defender Leny Yoro.

Sources indicate that United has agreed on a €62m (£52.06m) fee for Yoro, who is expected to fly to Manchester today for his medical.

The 18-year-old has garnered interest from several top European clubs, including Real Madrid. Yoro debuted for Lille at 16 and was included in Thierry Henry’s provisional France squad for the Olympic Games but was omitted due to Lille’s Champions League qualification commitments.

Yoro’s arrival would clarify United’s central defensive options. The club has made two unsuccessful bids for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, whose valuation exceeds £75m. United is also in talks with Bayern Munich for Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt.

While United remains interested in both Branthwaite and De Ligt, signing both is unlikely due to squad space and budget constraints. Raphael Varane left the club at the end of the season, and there are uncertainties about Victor Lindelof’s future as his contract expires next year. Harry Maguire, who stayed at Old Trafford despite offers last summer, made 22 Premier League appearances.

Joshua Zirkzee became United’s first summer signing last week in a £36.5m deal from Bologna. The club has also agreed on a £27m fee with Marseille for striker Mason Greenwood, while defender Willy Kambwala joined Villarreal for around £9m last week.
