Fifth Death of the Month: Woman Mysteriously Falls from 25th Floor of Pattaya Condominium
At 3:30 AM on June 8, 2024, Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanya Udtong, an investigator with Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a fatal fall from a high-rise building. The incident occurred at a condominium near Pattaya Beach, in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Upon receiving the report, she informed her superior, Police Colonel Navin Thirawit, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, and coordinated with the investigative team of Pattaya City Police Station, forensic officers from Chonburi Provincial Division Two, and rescue personnel from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya Foundation to rush to the scene.
The incident took place at a 27-story condominium. Staff had used white wooden screens to cordon off the body to prevent onlookers from seeing the scene. Behind the screens, they found the lifeless body of a woman, whose name and nationality remain unknown. She was estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, wearing a brown T-shirt and shorts. Her body was severely broken, and blood was pooling on the ground. A large crowd had gathered to observe the incident. Police officers used police tape to restrict access to the area while forensic officers collected evidence from the deceased and the room numbered 243/954 on the 25th floor. However, they did not disclose any details to the press.
Initially, no one witnessed the incident. A security guard of the condominium reported that while making rounds, he noticed a person lying motionless on the ground. Upon closer inspection, he realized the person was dead and was convinced that she had fallen from the building. Consequently, he alerted the authorities to investigate. As of now, the cause of this tragic event—whether it was an accident, suicide, or foul play—remains unknown. Investigative officers will need to gather clues from witnesses and CCTV footage to determine the cause of this incident.
