A six-wheel truck collided with an SUV in Prachuap Khiri Khan on Monday morning, killing both drivers and five passengers.
Bang Saphan district police were summoned to Phetakasem Road at 6.45am and found the multiple fatalities, including truck driver Chakkraphan Naksak, 25.
His wife riding with him was severely injured and taken to the district hospital.
Police determined that the driver of a pickup in front of the truck lost control and Chakkraphan swerved to avoid it, crossing the road island and striking the SUV.
The SUV driver and all five passengers were killed.
