Van driver arrested after he kicked lottery seller in the face

A van driver had kicked a lottery seller at 15.00 on 29 June 2020. The man has given himself up to the Surat Thani Police. The victim filed a report against Montri, 40 years old from Surat Thani.

The victim went to see the doctor after the attack to determine whether the attack has resulted in a long term injury. Police Colonel Sirichai Suksart stated that investigation officials are waiting for medical results from the doctor before beginning the prosecution process, it depends a lot on the opinion of a doctor as to how serious the injury is.

In the meantime, Montri has admitted that he kicked the lottery seller and has been let go awaiting prosecution.

The lottery seller stated after being interviewed by the police that she wishes the case to end soon. The seller does not want the story to become viral or anyone in the case attacked. This is because she will still be working in Surat Thani.

The woman has been selling lottery tickets in the area for over 20 years. If the van driver wants to apologize then she is willing to accept the apology. She wants the problem to end so they can each continue on with their lives. The victim further explains that on the date of the incident Montri had misunderstood what she said.

They were standing over a meter apart and both were wearing masks as protection from Covid-19.

The victim is a 59-year-old lottery seller. She was walking in the area selling tickets, the van driver who was sitting down commented on how she was selling overpriced tickets at 100 THB per ticket when the right price is 80 THB.

The suspect informed the woman that he would notify the police to receive reward money. The victim then replied that the reward money is not that easy to get. Montri lost control and stood up before kicking the lottery seller right in the face.

The seller fell onto the ground landing on her back. She ended up with wounds on her mouth and chest. The victim then went to file a report with the police.
