Two Dead in Navy Van Crash

A tragic incident occurred when a van carrying a large group of Sattahip navy conscripts en route to their hometown for Songkran collided with a trailer truck on Highway 304 in Phanom Sarakham district, Chachoengsao province. This devastating crash resulted in the loss of two officers’ lives and left over 13 others injured.

Authorities were alerted to the accident around 4:30 AM and swiftly responded to the scene, where they discovered the white van overturned in the middle of the road. Approximately 10 passengers had been ejected from the vehicle, with three sustaining serious injuries.

The van, originating from Sattahip Naval Base in Chonburi province and heading towards the conscripts’ home province of Nong Bua Lamphu, collided with an 18-wheel trailer truck. Remarkably, the driver of the trailer truck emerged unscathed from the collision.

Emergency responders promptly transported the injured passengers to nearby medical facilities. Sadly, two of the conscripts succumbed to their injuries, one at the accident site and another at the hospital, although their identities have not been disclosed to the media. Meanwhile, the remaining 13 individuals were undergoing treatment for various injuries at the time of reporting.
