Truck speeds off in hit and run

Two people were hurt in a hit-and-run accident near the Soi Boon Samphan entrance in East Pattaya, and a street food motorcycle cart suffered significant damage.

Due to the collision, the sidecar was torn off the motorcycle, throwing cargo all over the road.

Lamyai Kamsaen, 54, was instantly taken to Pattaya City Hospital for treatment after suffering many wounds. A second victim, a 58-year-old male driver who was unidentified, suffered minor injuries. Fortunately, neither person’s injury was life-threatening.

Lamyai recalled how she and her uncle, who were both seafood-focused food sellers, had just finished their shift and were on their way home.

A fast white pickup vehicle smashed into the back of the cart as it was being parked to buy eggs, sending both victims soaring into the air and tipping the sidecar over.

Police received comprehensive details of the occurrence from witnesses, but regrettably, the local law enforcement’s response lacked both haste and compassion.

The police advised the injured parties to wait to file an official report until they had fully recovered, which was an absurd recommendation that left the victims and witnesses confused and irate.
