The incident happened on a bypass heading toward Bangkok, When rescue personnel arrived on the site, they discovered the body of Mr. Surasak Setthajit, 21, who had suffered severe head injuries, lying on the road.
The deceased seemed to be a rider for a meal delivery service. Mr. Watchara Daengprakham, 32, a witness to the collision, informed local media that he saw the victim operating a motorcycle next to a 10-wheeler. When he arrived at the scene of the collision, the victim’s motorcycle slipped on a deep layer of sand and slid beneath the truck’s back wheel, crushing him to death.
The 35-year-old truck driver, Mr. Anon Jaicham, claimed that he was moving through the leftmost lane. He claimed that as the victim was traveling alongside his vehicle, the victim’s motorcycle skidded on the sand due to the victim’s sudden swerve to avoid another bike. Mr. Anon made an attempt to swerve to miss the victim, but he was unable to do so in time.
The deceased person’s body was taken to a nearby hospital to await funeral preparations. Police are investigating CCTV evidence to identify the responsible party.
