A 27-year-old Thai housewife who was among the confirmed coronavirus patients announced yesterday may be prosecuted since she provided false information on how she may have become infected and misleading the health authorities about the whereabouts of her infected friends.
Chuang Shuk-kwan, the head of the Center for Health’s Protection’s Communicable Disease Branch, said the woman might have breached the 599D Prevention and Control of Disease Regulation on Disclosure of Information.
The woman earlier told authorities that she had become infected from a friend she went shopping with in Tsim Sha Tsui, but that friend had returned to Thailand and tested positive.
