The body of Mr. Kunanon Jamjamrus, 16, who was in a school uniform, was found on the road. He was believed to have been killed instantly.

Mr. Tanakiet Kaewmee, 16, the driver of the motorbike, had sustained only very minor injuries.

The truck driver, Mr. Teerapat Khunpadong, 36, was waiting for police near his vehicle.

Mr. Tanakiet, the motorbike driver, told police that the road was dark and he was unable to see properly due to lack of illumination. His motorbike slipped on mud at an under construction area of the road and he lost control, toppling the bike and sending him and his passenger, Mr. Kunanon, falling to the ground.

Mr. Kunanon landed directly in the path of the incoming truck owned by Mr. Teerapat and was believed to have been killed instantly.

Borwin police are continuing their investigation for further potential legal action.
