Banglamung police received a report of a male teenager threatening others with a firearm at the beach in the Naklua area, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Police quickly arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found tourists, both Thai and foreign, in a state of panic. They spoke with two 17-year-olds involved in the incident, identified as Ms. Aey and Mr. Jack, who were waiting to provide statements. The suspect, Mr. Tae, had already fled the scene. Due to their young ages, the real names of those involved were withheld by the police.
According to Ms. Aey, Mr. Tae was her ex-boyfriend and had been threatening her since the day before. That evening, while she was sitting with her new boyfriend, Mr. Jack, at the beach, she saw Mr. Tae approaching with a gun, yelling, “So, you think you’re tough? I warned you!” Terrified, she and Mr. Jack tried to escape, but Mr. Tae chased them. Fortunately, they managed to seek help from nearby residents just in time.
A local vendor, who asked to remain anonymous for safety reasons, reported that the teenage couple ran to her, pleading for help, saying they were about to be shot. The vendor saw Mr. Tae pursuing them with a gun. She intervened, warning him that there were many people around who could be harmed and urging him not to ruin his future. Mr. Tae then reluctantly put the gun away, got on a motorcycle, and left the scene. Many tourists in the area ran for safety.
