The new TAT governor informed tourism operators that she will continue the policies established by her predecessor, Yuthasak Supasorn, for the promotion of tourism. She intends to make her strategy for creating tourism promotion strategies in cooperation with the private sector public once her appointment becomes official.
After earning her master’s in science from the University of Surrey in the UK, Thapanee joined the TAT in 1999. She has held a number of jobs inside the company and is now the deputy governor for domestic marketing.
Thapanee was instrumental in starting the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) certification program during the Covid-19 outbreak. During times of strong Covid-19 control measures, this program made it possible for hotels and businesses to comply with particular health and safety regulations, and it became a prerequisite for hotels looking to register as quarantine facilities.
