The Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning for people in eight Thai provinces.
At 4.00 a.m. yesterday (5 November), Tropical storm “GONI” over the middle South China Sea was centered about 350 kilometers east of Qui-Nhon, Vietnam.
With its maximum sustained winds of about 75 km/hour, it is moving west slowly. It is expected to make landfall over Qui-Nhon yesterday (5 November) after which it will downgrade to a tropical depression and active low pressure.
Isolated rain and strong winds are likely over the Thai provinces of Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Nayok and Prachin Buri. People in the risk areas should beware of severe conditions.
