The body pieces of a Colombian man thought to have been murdered by his Spanish lover were discovered at a landfill on the southern tourist island of Pha Ngan, Surat Thani, in Thailand. This has been confirmed by the forensic team.
The body pieces belonged to Mr. Edwin Miguel Arrieta Arteaga, a 44-year-old Colombian gender reassignment surgeon who was traveling to Pha Ngan Island with his 29-year-old Spanish companion, Mr. Daniel Jeronimo Sancho Bronchalo, according to the results of the DNA study.
After visiting the island to attend Mr. Daniel’s full moon party, Mr. Edwin inexplicably lost touch with his family. Later, his dismembered body pieces were discovered in an island landfill placed inside rubbish bags.
Mr. Daniel has so far acknowledged to allegedly killing and dismembering the body of his lover, Mr. Edwin, who he said attempted to have intercourse with him without his will.
This resulted in a struggle, during which Mr. Daniel punched Mr. Edwin once, sending him to the ground where he struck his skull fatally on a bathtub.
The police were still doubtful about Mr. Daniel’s assertion that he was compelled to dismember the body in order to dispose of it.
According to the authorities, the suspect planned the act meticulously, inviting his companion to meet him on the island and purchasing the necessary equipment to dismember the body.
On suspicion of planned murder, concealing the body, and tampering with the evidence, Mr. Daniel is being held in custody.
The authorities also discovered that Mr. Daniel had been to the island before. In addition, he invested money and used Mr. Edwin’s credit card to start a restaurant in Spain.
In addition to the suspected jealousy disagreement, the motive could have also been driven by money concerns, according to the authorities.
The victim’s head, both hands, and arms were found in a black bag on August 6, and authorities are currently searching for the victim’s other remaining body parts that the suspect dumped in the water.
Eight out of the whole 14 body parts have already been discovered, leaving six missing, as the suspect claims.
Mr. Daniel is said to be the son of renowned Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho Aguirre. He is also the grandson of the renowned Spanish actor Félix ngel Sancho Gracia.
According to reports, after learning of his son’s predicament, his father has made travel plans to Thailand.
