Singaporean arrested at Don Mueang airport after theft from a German tourist

After allegedly stealing a laptop, a passport, and cash totaling about 100,000 baht from a German tourist in Pattaya, a Singaporean man was detained on Monday at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport.

Immigration police said in a Facebook post that they had detained a Singaporean man on Monday for “robbery or receiving stolen goods” and that Pattaya police were looking into the matter.

On Monday, a Pattaya hotel lodged a complaint with immigration authorities regarding a guy by the name of Kenny Teo Yu Xuan. According to the hotel, a German national who was one among its visitors trusted it with the goods.

Teo is said to have approached hotel staff members and claimed ownership of the things. Then left the hotel without checking out.

Less than an hour after the complaint was received, at 4.35 p.m. on the same day, Thai immigration officers saw Teo traveling from Pattaya to Don Mueang Airport to board a flight back to Singapore.The items were taken, then given back to the German.
