Phrae house: Police resumed their search on Friday for a Thai-Australian couple who have disappeared from their house in Phrae’s Muang district.

Officers had started searching the couple’s 10-rai property in Moo6 village, Tambon Chorhae, on Thursday but failed to locate them.

They named the couple as a Thai woman, Nott Suddaen, 61, and Alan Hawk (surname not confirmed).

Police went to the property after a close friend of the couple lodged a report that she had been unable to contact them by phone or the Line application since Wednesday.

The woman said she had gone to the house on Thursday and did not find the couple so she informed police.

Officers found that the couple’s pickup truck was not there. They also found traces of blood on the ground near the garage that someone appeared to have tried to wash away, plus a mobile phone that was still being charged.

Police found a newly buried site near a stream on the property but when they dug it, they found nothing.

Neighbours told police that the woman had a brother living nearby who often argued with her about vbarious matters. Police questioned him but he said he knew nothing of the couple’s whereabouts.

The couple’s daughter has travelled from England back to Thailand after learning of the disappearance.
