Russian tourist’s body found

On the evening of September 25, a tragic incident occurred when a twin-engine speedboat collided with a man and a woman swimming near Had Tien Beach on Koh Larn Island. The collision resulted in the death of the woman and the disappearance of the man. On September 27, locals discovered the body of the missing man on the northern side of Had Tien Beach, two days later. Approximately 60-70 meters from the accident site, rescuers discovered the corpse of a male foreigner wearing blue swim trunks floating upside down and wedged between rocks on the shore. The individual had injuries to his back, left shoulder, and neck, which were most likely caused by the boat’s propeller. At least twenty-four hours had passed before his discovery, according to forensic analysis.
The victim of the tragic accident was identified as 20-year-old Narada Taichaisong from Thailand. Her right leg below the knee was amputated, and her body was discovered shortly after the collision. Following the collision, the male immigrant, identified as Enrike Rakhman, a 22-year-old Russian national, went missing at sea. Due to powerful underwater currents, a team of divers was unable to continue their three-hour search operation. Pattaya Police located Thawatchai Chomphupuang, a 20-year-old speedboat driver, and arrested him. Now he confronts charges for reckless behavior that resulted in the deaths of others.
Authorities recovered the victim’s body from the stony shore and sent it to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital for an autopsy. The investigation is on-going to conclusively establish the man’s identity. In the meantime, a Thai woman who is a relative of the deceased victim has validated Enrike Rakhman’s identity. She explained that the couple had been on vacation when the tragic accident occurred, resulting in their deaths.
