Rivalry between the two Songthaews drivers

rivalry between the two Songtaews' drivers

Pattaya Second Road, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province, was where the police were called.
There was mayhem in the center of the road as a bunch of Songtaew drivers were verbally attacking each other and arguing loudly with each other. Police in Pattaya claimed that the event, which drew a huge number of foreign tourists, had damaged the city’s image as a top-tier vacation spot.
Songthaews are passenger vehicles derived from pickup trucks, so keep that in mind. These two-row cars have been a reliable and affordable method of transportation in Thailand for decades.

Before the police arrived, witnesses heard scuffles amongst Songthaew drivers who were competing for passengers. A physical confrontation ensued, and a woman was kicked in the face. Before the cops arrived, the fight caused a small delay in traffic. The drivers were reportedly still arguing when they were transported to the Pattaya Police Station.

A Thai woman who wished to remain anonymous told The Pattaya News that she had seen an assault on a fellow Songtaew driver. Thus, she hurried to aid, only to be kicked in the face while doing so.

Pattaya police initially filed charges against both parties and issued each a fine of an undisclosed amount. For the sake of Pattaya’s tourism reputation, the police also had the drivers swear never to engage in such conduct again.
