Residents of South Pattaya complain about the poor quality of the roads being built.

In order to draw the attention of the city leaders to their distress regarding an ongoing haphazard building project in South Pattaya, locals have turned to the media.

They said that at the beginning of this month, Pattaya city started digging and setting massive drainage pipes to build a drainage system on Soi Kasemsuwan 15 that would connect to Pattaya Beach Road. Road surfacing was also a part of the project, starting at the Wat Chaimongkol crossroads and continuing all the way to Soi 10 on Pattaya 2nd Road.

The contractor has not been able to complete or improve the road surface despite the continuous work. The road, which acts as a crucial junction connecting Soi Kasemsuwan or Buakhao to the road behind the Avenue Mall to Pattaya 2nd Road, has just been patched over with earth and temporary steel sheets.

Pattaya City has received countless complaints, yet nothing has been done to resolve the issue. Locals and visitors are therefore forced to travel on the dangerous road surface at their own risk.
