A prisoner due to be released at the end of this month escaped from Klong Prem Central Prison in Bangkok on Tuesday morning.
Kritsada Muangphrae, convicted of theft charges, fled around 9am while working in the car care zone inside the prison, Thai media reported.
Pol Col Ittichet Wonghomhuan, chief of Prachachuen police station, said a hunt was underway for the escapee. Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to call the police 191 hotline.
Kritsada, from Bangkok’s Din Daeng district, was sentenced to six years in prison for theft. The term was later commuted to three years. He was due to be freed on Feb 28.
