Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has directed the Energy Ministry to act quickly in response to the growing public outrage over exorbitant electricity prices.
The administration has stated that it will hold off on authorizing a 7-satang cut in electricity rates for the months of May to August until after a special meeting with the Energy Regulatory Commission.
A public hearing on the matter is also anticipated to begin soon by the commission.
