Region 1 police yesterday (Dec 26, 2018) returned land title deeds and money seized from loan sharks to their rightful owners. The assets include 15 land title deeds, 11 cars and 25 motorcycles worth altogether 143.7 million baht, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.
The police sweeping operation followed complaints from a large number of people who were forced to sign agreements to pay high interest rates for loan.
The crackdown was ordered by Royal Thai Police commander Pol Gen Jakthip Chaichinda.
