Kenyan women held for cocaine at Phuket airport

Nearly 3 kilograms of cocaine, valued at roughly 10 million baht, were discovered in the bellies and vagina of three Kenyan women who were detained at the Phuket airport.

The Office of the Narcotics Control Board informed local police and customs officials on Sunday that some foreigners were bringing cocaine into the nation through the Phuket airport, leading to the arrests.

The three Kenyan ladies were spotted by police on Tuesday, who then searched them thoroughly but found nothing criminal on them, according to Sakhu police chief.

But later X-rays at Thalang Hospital provided a different picture.

They had ingested cocaine-containing pills, according to stomach scans. The woman had also, according to authorities, put larger bars containing the medication into their vagina.

According to Pol Col Salan Santisatsanakul, head of the Sakhu police station, authorities found 2,857 grams of cocaine in total.

Nelly Gacheri Ruuri, 26, Faith Wanza Musembi, 26, and Grace Wangari Karok, 34, were named as the accused.

They were accused of collaborating to have drugs from Category 2 in their hands. They were all brought to the Sakhu police station to begin legal proceedings.
