A woman was arrested after an hour-long police chase, 6 vehicles were damaged in the pursuit. The suspect was drunk driving her brand new Mercedes car still with the red license plate.
She claims that stress was the main cause. Police Major Wachira Asawut from the Bang Sue Police Station in Bangkok received a notification of a hit and run on 12 August 2020 at 00.00. A vehicle was damaged and many were injured in front of a market in the Jatujak area.
Not long after the Mercedes E250d with a Bangkok license plate was surrounded by police and good civilians near an apartment. Wichuda 37 years old was sitting in the car wearing a blue floral dress. She was bleeding above her right eyebrow so the rescue team helped make sure she was safe and was delivered to the Bang Sue Police Station.
Police chased after the woman for over an hour when they finally arrested her. The suspect had damaged 2 cars and 4 motorbikes along the way coming to a total of 6 damaged vehicles with many injured though the number has not yet been confirmed.
Witnesses stated that the Mercedes started to hit and run on vehicles at about 23.00 on the 11th. The first vehicle was damaged at the Karai intersection in Nonthaburi Province. The car then drove onto Phaholyothin Road then to Kamphaeng Phet Road and the chase finally ended on Rama VI Road.
Along with the chase police, rescue teams, and good citizens tried to surround the vehicle multiple times. The car finally stopped after crashing into a vehicle parked in front of a building.
Officials stated that the father of the suspect revealed she was in extreme stress after losing millions to a business deal gone wrong.
The woman appeared visibly drunk and did not make much sense when she spoke. We also know that she graduated from a university in the USA. The woman had a blood-alcohol level of 257 mg/dL, at this state most people feel nausea, confusion, slurred speech, decreased balanced, and symptoms of alcohol intoxication.
