This week, the mayor of Pattaya traveled to Germany to take part in a Thailand tourist event. In order to attend the “Explore Thailand, Journey to Happiness,” Mayor Poramase Ngampiches traveled to Berlin. for the tourism boost expo was scheduled to occur from March 9 to 11.
The purpose of the event was to draw wealthy Europeans and German tourists to Thailand and Pattaya. Together with other Thai government representatives, including TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn, Poramase opened the ceremony.
Two tourist spots in Thailand earned top awards for sustainable tourism in Germany on Thursday. The locations were Huay Pu Keng village in the northern Mae Hong Son province and the island of Koh Mak, which is situated in the eastern Trat region.
The two stunning locales took up top honors at the German ITB Berlin 2023 event’s Green Destinations Story Awards. The annual Green Destinations Top 100 Stories competition invites submissions, and the awards ceremony recognizes the most inspirational projects for the growth of sustainable tourism across six categories.
The village of Huay Pu Keng took first place in the Thriving Communities division. In the categories of governance, reset, and recovery, Koh Mak island came in second.
At the 30th annual Grand Travel Awards 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden, Thailand was recognized as the Best Tourist Country last week. The prize, sponsored by TravelNews, is based on data from a survey of 3,227 Swedish tourists and industry experts that was performed by the research firm Nordic Bench. Thailand had now won the prestigious prize twice in the previous five years.

In January, 2.14 million foreign visitors visited Thailand. The top three source markets for tourists in the previous month were Malaysia (288,745), Russia (202,759), and South Korea (169,462).
