Passenger Arrested with 4.8 kg of Cocaine at Suvarnabhumi

A Brazilian tourist was detained at Suvarnabhumi International Airport with 4.8 kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated 14.4 million baht.

On Friday (April 7th), Thai Customs told TPN media that on Thursday (April 6th), AITF (AIRPORT INTERDICTION TASK FORCE) officials X-rayed a targeted suitcase and discovered 4.8 kilograms of cocaine valued more than 14.4 million baht.

They detained a male foreign traveller from the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. Officers took the suspect, whose name was not released to the media, to the Suvarnabhumi Airport Police Station. According to authorities, the suspect was targeted by the AITF for acting suspiciously. The foreign suspect is accused of unlawfully bringing Category 2 drugs into Thailand, illegally possessing Category 2 drugs, and violating Thai Customs legislation.
