A porn star and OnlyFans model who goes by Karlie Brooks managed to go five years without her family knowing what she does for a living.
In a TikTok clip, which has since received more than 8.6 million views, Karlie shared the deeply unfortunate way they came to find out.
The video, which she titled ‘I. Am. Cringing’ with a vomiting emoji, shows a screenshot of a text which reads: ‘Hey kiddo! This is your uncle. I think I might have stumbled across a video of you today…very nice.
‘Do you happen to know Riley Reid? Also do you have an OnlyFans? My friend wants to know.’
Really not the kind of text you want to get from a family member.
Unfortunately, despite the fact that it is the year 2022, the comments section on the video (as with many others Karlie’s shared on TikTok) contains a noticeable amount of hate over her profession.
As one user wrote: ‘How come y’all are SO quick to judge a woman for consensually making money off her body but not her BLOOD RELATIVE looking to get some?’
Indeed.
The good news is that, according to a later post, Karlie’s parents have thrown their support behind her.
In a newer clip, Karlie shows texts from her ‘Mormon mom’, in which she addresses her daughter by her stage name and shares that her aunt had found some of her content on (presumably, but this has been redacted) her uncle’s phone.
‘Good afternoon’, her mum writes, using her real name before adding: ‘or should I say “Karlie”?’
Admittedly, this makes for an ominous start, but in the last screenshot shared, Karlie’s mum agrees that the uncle ‘is a total creep.’
‘Not to freak you out or anything,’ she adds, ‘but that’s not the only thing she found… it gets worse’
Not sure we want to know how that could possibly get worse.
Her mum also says Karlie’s father is planning on taking a restraining order out on him.
The message ends with: ‘We love you and are proud of you.’
