On Friday, a senior German expat tragically died after falling from a department store parking structure in Pattaya. The event took place in the Nong Prue subdivision of the Bang Lamung district on Central Pattaya Road. At around 4.30 p.m., Pattaya City Police received word of the event.
When the 88-year-old man’s body was discovered on the ground, police and emergency personnel arrived on the scene. His identity is being kept a secret until his family and the embassy are informed.
The man was an expatriate rather than a traveler because he was carrying a pink Thai ID card. On the fourth floor of the parking garage, the crew also discovered sandals and a hat that they believe belonged to the individual.
No one actually saw the occurrence, according to Warachai Tapyai, a 40-year-old technician employed by the department store. Tapyai clarified that he had learned of the person’s fall from the structure from a third party. The Pattaya City Police are presently investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s fall by studying the CCTV footage. At this point, it is believed that the German expat may have leaped from the building of his own free will.
