Police are looking for a foreigner suspected of murdering a man and disposing of his body parts at a landfill on Surat Thani’s Pha-ngan Island.
The hunt was ordered after a laborer from Myanmar discovered the human remains in a blue plastic bag at the Koh Pha-ngan Subdistrict Municipality landfill.
The body was discovered to be that of a foreign male.
Surat Thani Police deputy superintendent Pol Colonel Paisan Sangthep is leading the search for a foreign man who vanished in unusual circumstances from a hotel on Pha-ngan Island.
The suspect, who is believed to be hiding out on the island, is known to have purchased a knife and a plastic bag at an island retail mall.
The reason for the murder is unknown. The probe is still ongoing.
