A 23-year-old Thai man was slain last night in Pattaya when he was driven over and killed by a tour bus. The bus driver reported that the victim was riding his motorcycle at high speeds when he smashed into his vehicle.
At 10:20 PM on July 30th, 2023, Sawang Boriboon rescue services arrived at the scene of the accident on Soi Kho Pai 5 in Pattaya’s Banglamung district to find the victim dead in a pool of blood behind a blue tour bus registered in Bangkok.
The victim, later identified as Mr. Marut Jaisa, a 23-year-old Thai national, was run over by the bus and tragically died at the site.
His white Honda PCX motorcycle was discovered to have crashed with the bus’s bumper.
Responding to the collision, Pattaya police transported the tour bus driver, Mr. Morakot Boonchai, 47, to the Pattaya police station for questioning. The Thai man said that he was traveling at only 20-30 kilometers per hour to pick up visitors from a hotel.
When he arrived at the scene of the collision, which was on a curved route, the victim suddenly appeared on his motorcycle, crossing the lane and colliding with his bus. Morakot said that he was unable to brake in time, resulting in a full-fledged collision.
During his check, he learned that the bus had run over and killed the victim. Morakot notified the authorities right away.
As proof, the police photographed the accident scene. The victim’s remains is being held at Banglamung Hospital for additional funeral arrangements. The press has not been given any information on probable legal measures against the bus driver.
