Eligible people have used 5,088 privileges to reserve rooms under the “Rao Tiew Duay Kan” (We Travel Together) tourism stimulus package within one hour of it opening for applications.
“Rao Tiew Duay Kan” is a government package, which is a combination of “Tiew Pan Suk” (Trips to share happiness) and “Rao Pai Tiew Kan” (Let’s travel together) packages to encourage Thai people to travel across the country within four months, from July to October, this year.
Saturday (July 18) is the first day that the government has allowed eligible applicants to receive a 40 per cent discount on rooms subject to a maximum of Bt3,000 per room or night. Each applicant can reserve up to five rooms for five nights.
As of 7.30am, the remaining privileges were 4,994,912, down 5,088 from a total of 5 million.
Eligible applicants can check-in at hotels from July 21 onwards, while they can reserve rooms until October 28 this year. The project will end on October 31.
