A Samut Prakan resident’s heart was broken when his wife died in his arms at 5.30pm on Sunday after dinner.
Officers from Bang Phli Police Station showed up to find a devastated Tawit Metha holding his wife Orpapin Boonlert.
Tawit was so affected by his wife’s passing that rescue volunteers had to remove him to a sofa. He later tearfully explained that his wife had cooked and served the dumplings she had bought on Friday.
After eating, she went to the toilet and after about an hour he called out to check on her. When she did not answer, he opened the door to find her on the floor surrounded with vomit.
He tried to revive her with CPR and when she did not respond, he called for help from neighbours and called the 1669 emergency hotline but it was too late.
