Man, 67, commits suicide in temple compound

Three young shop clerks killed in horror crash

A Bangkok man was found dead in the compound of a temple in Suphan Buri province on Monday evening in a suspected case of suicide, police said.

The body of Thanachote Narinthornphakdee, 67, was found under a mango tree by a gardener in Wat Mai Nopparat in Tambon None Phra Prang, Song Phi Nong district.

A doctor said the victim had likely been dead for six or seven hours. An empty soda drink bottle and an almost empty Grammoxone herbicide bottle were found near his body. His handbag was found nearby with no signs of any attempted robbery.

Thanachote, who lived in Bangkok’s Dusit district, had a sister living in Song Phi Nong district. The sister, Natnathi Narinthornphakdee, told police that her brother normally lived with relatives in Bangkok and she had no idea when her brother had come to the temple. She said her brother suffered from depression and high blood pressure.

The body was sent for autopsy to Police Hospital in Bangkok.
