The Loma Run on the Beach 2024 took place early on Sunday, September 22, starting at 5:30 a.m. from Dongtan Beach in Jomtien. Organized by the Human Help Network Foundation for Thai Children, Pattaya City, Loma Run Organizer, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Pattaya Office), the event drew over 2,300 athletes and more than 3,000 spectators.
This year’s event featured two race categories: a 10.5-kilometer Mini Marathon and a 5.5-kilometer Fun Run. The primary objective was to raise funds for the HHN Foundation’s educational programs, which benefit underprivileged children in Pattaya. Additionally, the event aimed to promote public health and enhance Pattaya’s status as a “Sport City.” The weekend brought a 15-million-baht boost to the local economy, with tourists and athletes contributing to increased spending.
For more than 15 years, the HHN Foundation has played a vital role in child and youth development in Pattaya. Through programs like the Child Protection and Development Center (CPDC) and the ASEAN Learning Center, the foundation offers emergency shelter, education for children of migrant workers, and protection for abused children. The foundation also provides scholarships and family support to prevent vulnerable children from being placed in shelters, currently assisting over 300 children.
The event concluded at 8:00 a.m., with awards presented to the winners in each race category, marking a successful day of fundraising and community involvement.
