Liverpool And Manchester United Players Ranked From ‘World Class’ To ‘Terrible’
Virgil van Dijk and Paul Pogba are amongst the Liverpool and Manchester United stars to be ranked as world-class players.
Ahead of Liverpool and the Red Devils’ Sunday showdown at Old Trafford, SPORTbible used TierMaker to rank both sides’ main players from ‘World Class’ to ‘Terrible.’
Jurgen Klopp’s title-challenging side have Van Dijk in the world-class bracket alongside Alisson and Sadio Mane.
But United, who have stagnated since the tail end of last season, have only one player in that bracket in the form of World Cup winner Pogba.
Liverpool defenders Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are in the ‘Great’ tier alongside United summer signings Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Alongside the quartet of defenders are the likes of Mohamed Salah, Georginio Wijnaldum and David de Gea.
Further down in the ‘Okay’ tier features the likes of Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson, Scott McTominay and Victor Lindelof.
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino and United striker Anthony Martial have fallen into the ‘Overrated’ tier.
While Reds fans might not be happy with Firmino being labeled overrated, they can at least rejoice that no Liverpool players were named in the ‘Terrible’ tier.
United singlehandedly dominated the category with six players underperforming at Old Trafford.
Jesse Lingard is named alongside Nemanja Matic, Ashley Young, Andreas Pereira, Marcus Rashford and United flop Fred.
Rashford has only scored once from open play this season in United’s 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea on the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign.
And even United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said ahead of the Liverpool clash that he could change his system to help the out-of-form 21-year-old striker.
