During the dry season, several islands, including Koh Larn, face a water deficit.
Manoch Nongyai, deputy mayor of Pattaya City, stated that Koh Larn’s fresh water comes from three sources: the desalination plant, aretesian wells, and rainwater collected by residents.
Due to the enormous number of tourists, the island ran out of water resources, which were produced via desalination at a rate of 300 cubic meters per day. The island’s resorts must purchase fresh water from the mainland.
The city of Pattaya requested assistance from the navy in transporting fresh water to the island.
During the water shortage, tourists and local residents were advised to use less water.
