A violent altercation involving a group of Indian nationals occurred in front of Pattaya City School 8, across from Wat Chai Mongkol Temple on South Pattaya Road, leaving one person critically injured.
According to witnesses, the confrontation involved 5-6 men, with some of the attackers arriving on motorcycles. One of the assailants, dressed in a blue suit, used Muay Thai techniques to repeatedly strike his target. The violence intensified as the attackers continued to beat the victim, who eventually collapsed near a fence. Additional attackers joined in, further assaulting the injured man while others looked on. After the assault, the attackers fled, leaving the victim unconscious on the pavement.
Uncle La-ong, a motorcycle taxi driver, witnessed emergency responders and police attending to the injured man but was uncertain about what triggered the altercation. Another witness, Uncle Yut, a motorcycle taxi operator at Soi 16 Pattaya Second Road, remarked that such violent incidents are not uncommon in the area, especially during busy hours.
Surveillance footage from Soi 16 Pattaya Second Road, recorded around 5 a.m., captured the group of men chasing their rivals, which ultimately led to the violent clash. The incident highlights ongoing issues with violence among certain groups in Pattaya and raises concerns about its impact on local safety and tourism.
