The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecasted an increase in temperatures nationwide due to a reduction in a cold air mass over the upper part of Thailand. The change is expected to bring the hottest conditions around midday, particularly in the North, Northeast, Central, Eastern regions, and Pattaya City.
From Wednesday to Monday, the North and Northeast regions are expected to experience temperature increases of 3-5 degrees Celsius, with a 20% chance of rain in both areas from Saturday to Monday. The Central regions will also see a rise in temperatures by 3-5 degrees Celsius and a 10-20% chance of rain, along with gusty winds particularly in the lower areas, where temperatures will range from 33-37 degrees Celsius from Friday to Monday.
In the East and the eastern side of the South, a 3-5 degrees Celsius temperature increase is expected, with a 10-30% chance of rain and gusty winds. The western side of the South is also anticipated to experience rain in 10-20% of the area, with temperatures ranging from 31-37 degrees Celsius.
Similar temperature increases of 3-5 degrees Celsius are predicted for Bangkok and its surrounding provinces. From Friday to Monday, there’s a 10-20% chance of rain and gusty winds, with temperatures expected to range between 32 and 37 degrees Celsius.
The TMD has also cautioned that certain areas, including Mae Hong Son and Uttaradit in the North, Sukhothai in the Central region, Tak in the South, and Udon Thani in the Northeast, may experience temperatures reaching up to 44 degrees Celsius.
