Mother’s Day is a very important day observed all around the world to recognize moms and their devotion for their children.

Giving to monks is an important aspect of traditional Mother’s Day ceremonies. Ceremonies are held early in the morning to present food offerings to Thailand’s saffron-robed Buddhist monks.
Mother’s Day ceremonies are commonly held in Thai schools.
On this particular day, moms visit their children’s schools, and each youngster kneels at his or her mother’s feet, thanking her for everything she has done for them. In this joyful and proud moment, it is normal to witness mothers wiping tears from their eyes and many youngsters doing the same.
Young children design their own handmade card to present to their mothers.
Children may also give their mothers a special present or take her out to dinner. Some eateries are offering special deals on this national holiday so that children can spend time with their mothers.
Jasmine, a flower that represents motherhood, is a traditional Mother’s Day gift in Thailand. This exquisite white blossom is loaded with a lovely fragrant smell and is known as dok mali in Thai (Jasmine is used in worship and is also viewed as a sign of purity and gentleness).
The Thai armed forces honoured Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother with a 21-gun salute on the occasion of her 91st birthday on Saturday.
