The family of a Hunter Valley lady who died this week after suffering a severe brain injury in an accident in Thailand earlier this year has expressed their grief.
Kylee Enwright died in the hospital on Tuesday, according to her husband, Paul.
Ms Enwright, from Singleton, had been in Thailand for less than 12 hours when she slipped down some stairs and injured her head as she left a pub in Khao Lak on May 28.
She stayed at Bangkok Hospital in Phuket for three weeks before returning to Australia on a medically supervised trip in June.
A commercial plane had nine seats removed so that Mr Enwright’s wife could be transferred on a stretcher with a doctor and nurse on board.
Mr Enwright had to rely on a fundraiser to bring her home to rehabilitate at Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.
Mr Enwright, on the other hand, said in a Facebook post yesterday that Kylee suffered a second brain bleed on Sunday morning that was “catastrophic and unsurvivable.”
“I would like to inform you all of Kylee’s sudden passing with the greatest sadness and heaviest heart,” it stated.
“Kylee passed away peacefully in the company of her loved ones.”
Mr Enwright stated that his wife had been making incredible improvement from her original brain injury in Thailand up until Sunday.
