Gold shop robber is arrested, blames his WIFE

Gold shop robber

Chonburi provincial police announced the arrest of a thirty-three year old Si Racha man who robbed the Golden 99 gold shop in a store in Laem Chabang on Monday evening.

The thief has admitted the crime and blamed his wife whom he says has been pressurizing him over money.

His own father reported him to police and the crook, whose name has been given as Warunsawan, was arrested in a minivan as he was fleeing the province yesterday.

Most of the gold was recovered to the value of over 200,000 baht

Police also seized two handguns with fake magazines, the clothes worn during the robbery and a Yamaha motorcycle with no licence plates.

The robber has been labeled ‘e – teh’ by the local media, because he was caught on CCTV wearing flip-flops as he vaulted the gold shop counter waving a gun around.

The suspect claims he has been suffering stress after being put under pressure by his wife in an argument over money.

After the robbery he went to the Klong Thom market in Bang Lamung then back home to Si Racha before realising he was wanted and went on the run towards Rayong.
