A French national has been banged to rights and charged after filming trying to secretly film a woman in the female toilet of a Sydney bar on the weekend.
The woman was using the toilet of the bar on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst when she spotted a hand holding a mobile phone under the partition wall about 1 am on Saturday.
The woman screamed before looking over the top of the partition and seeing a man in the adjacent cubicle holding the phone which looked to be recording.
The lady had told security at the who then passed the information onto police.
The French national was detained by security when trying to leave the premises.
A short while later the police arrived and arrested the 30-year-old. Police secured a mobile phone and cannabis during a personal search.
The French national has been charged with intentionally recording an intimate image without consent and possess prohibited drugs.
He has been granted conditional bail on Saturday morning and has already appeared at Downing Centre Local Court. The outcome is not known at this point.
