Four arrested, 130,000 meth pills seized in Uttaradit

Uttaradit police have arrested four drug suspects and seized 130,123 methamphetamine pills, most of which were reportedly buried and hidden in a durian orchard.

The arrest was announced at a press conference on Friday by Uttaradit chief Pol Maj Gen Thinnarat Phetphansri.

The suspects were identified as Sitthipong Mantawat, Ploypailin Puangkaew, Yutthapong Thapanya and Daenchai Panuan. They are residents of Uttaradit’s Laplae district.

Thinnarat said Sitthipong and Ploypailin, a couple, were first arrested at their house earlier this week and some 18,000 meth pills were seized from them.

They said they bought the drugs from the two other suspects so police said they made more arrests and had the two other suspects point out where they buried the rest of the pills in a durian orchard.
