Foreigner sustains severe head injuries in a traffic accident in Pattaya

At 9 o’clock on October 8th, a report of the incident was made to the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation. The foundation immediately sent rescue workers to the scene, which was located on Phonprapanimit Road in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province, after getting the notification.
The rescuers discovered a red Yamaha Fino with a Chonburi license plate lying in the middle of the road. There was some minor damage to the bike. A automobile parked nearby belonged to a mystery international man who was waiting at the site.
The rescue workers also came upon the motorbike’s driver, a foreign national named Mr. Bashford George Ongard, 66, who was found laying in the road.
The unidentified foreigner got significant head injuries after a fall off his motorcycle. As soon as he received initial care, he was taken to the nearest hospital. Workers stated the man had not been wearing a helmet while riding his motorcycle.

In an interview, the driver of the unmarked sedan claimed he had been backing onto the road. He continued, adding that his car had not yet touched the road when Mr. Bashford, who was approaching on his motorcycle, appeared surprised by the reversal. Mr. Bashford allegedly applied the brakes so hard that he crashed his bike and banged his head when he got off.
The sedan driver claimed there was no accident and the victim simply tripped and fell.

Pattaya Police are scouring surveillance footage to confirm the sedan driver’s story and establish what exactly happened.
